Fisher scored their first run in the bottom half of the same inning, when Samantha Vara crossed home plate on a Fisher ground out. The Pioneers held the 2-1 lead until the sixth inning when Fisher took the lead on runs scored by Katelyn Stubbendeck and Amanda Ball to give the Cardinals a lead and the 3-2 victory in game one.
