SIX PIONEERS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS – BENKWITT TABBED AS CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Six student-athletes from the Utica College football team were named to 2009 Empire 8 All-Conference Teams released Monday. Freshman quarterback Andrew Benkwitt was named the Conference’s Rookie of the Year, while senior classmates Eric Kahl and Pete Vano earned first team status for the first time in their careers. Senior wide receiver Cody Elliot was a second team selection along with junior defensive end Tracy Branch, and sophomore left tackle Tyler Olles was an honorable mention.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SET TO HOST UTICA COLLEGE TIP-OFF TOURNAMENT
The Utica College women's basketball team will host three teams tonight in the opening round of the UC Tip-off tournament. The first game between SUNYIT and Keystone College is slated for 6 p.m., followed by Utica College versus Rutgers-Camden at 8 p.m. Live video and stats will be available for both contests. MEN'S HOCKEY HEADS TO NEUMANN TO FINISH REGULAR SEASON SERIES WITH KNIGHTS
The Utica College men's hockey team (2-1-1) hits the road this weekend to take on nationally-ranked No. 13 Neumann University in ECAC Men's West Conference play tonight. KAHL SELECTED TO PLAY IN PRESTIGIOUS 'TAZON DE ESTRELLAS' GAME IN MEXICO
Senior linebacker Eric Kahl of the Utica College football team has been selected by the Stars & Stripes coaching staff to be a roster player for the Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) in Mexico on December 19th. With this honor comes the opportunity for Kahl to represent Utica College, Division III football, and his country, playing American football on an international stage.

ELLIOT & VANO ALONG WITH FIVE MEMBERS OF THE UC COACHING STAFF INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN D-III FOOTBALL SENIOR CLASSIC
Seniors Cody Elliot and Pete Vano, along with Head Coach Blaise Faggiano, and four other coaches from the Utica College football team have been selected to participate in the 2009 D-III Football Senior Classic on Dec. 5th in Salem, Virginia. The contest is one of two collegiate all-star games being played this post-season and it will be hosted at Salem Stadium, which has also been the home of the NCAA Division III Football Championship game since 1993.

UC MEN'S HOCKEY TO TAKE ON LEBANON VALLEY AT 3 PM SATURDAY
The game time for the Utica College men's hockey contest at ECAC Men's West Conference foe Lebanon Valley College on Saturday has been changed to 3 p.m. The Pioneers will be on the road this weekend against #12 Neumann Friday night, at 7 p.m., before traveling to Hershey, Pa. to take on Lebanon Valley Saturday at 3 p.m.

LUCKOW NAMED CONFERENCE GOALIE OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK
Senior goalie Anthony Luckow of the Utica College men’s hockey team was named the ECAC Men’s West Goalie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 15, 2009. The honor marks the second consecutive week Luckow has been named the conference’s goalie of the week.
#8 Avion Candice Ashton
HONORS CONTINUE TO ROLL IN FOR ASHTON
Sophomore midfielder Avion Candice Ashton (Sixth Form Government/Trinidad) of the Utica College field hockey team was named to the 2009 Longstreth / NFHCA Division III North Atlantic All-Region Second Team released Monday. Ashton, an international student from Trinidad, was also an Empire 8 All-Conference First Team selection for her efforts this past season.

GOODMAN SCORES CAREER-HIGH 27 POINTS IN PIONEERS WIN OVER OSWEGO
Senior forward Pat Goodman netted a career-high 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Utica College men's basketball team defeated host Oswego State 82-71 in non conference play Tuesday night. Junior guard James Patterson added 11 points and nine assists for UC. The contest featured 11 ties, but the Pioneers out scored the Lakers 22-12 in the final 7:55 of the contest to improve to 2-0 overall on the year.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY FALLS TO #3 ELMIRA
The Utica College women's hockey team lost to nationally-ranked No. 3 Elmira College 4-1 in ECAC Women's West Conference play Sunday afternoon at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Jodie Galluzzi netted the lone goal of the contest for the Pioneers. Junior goalie Laurel Simer stopped 36 shots in her first collegiate start.
