#24 Rob Russell BOX SCORE BRISTOL, R.I.– The Utica College men’s soccer team lost to Rhode Island College
1-0 Sunday at the Roger Williams Tournament in Bristol, R.I.
The Pioneers drop to 1-1 on the year after defeating Roger Williams 1-0 Saturday in the season opener for both squads.
RIC’s
Josh Silva scored on a penalty kick in the thirty eighth minute to lift the Anchormen.
Ryan Kelley and
Josh Talavera led RIC with four shots a piece.
Rhode Island out shot UC 21-9 and held the corner kick advantage 10-1. UC goalie
Andrew Miller (Clinton/Clinton) tallied five saves in his first loss of the season. Miller has 10 saves and a .50 goals against average in two games this season.
Senior forward
Evan Dufault (Sutton/Sutton, MA), who led the Empire 8 Conference in points (23) and ranked was fourth in goals (nine) last season, tallied a team-high two shots for UC. Senior defender

Robert Russell (New Hyde Park Memorial/New Hyde Park) earned all-tournament team honors for the Pioneers.
UC returns to action at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday against visiting Potsdam State. The game will be held on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on campus at Utica College.
