UTICA, NY – The Utica College women’s basketball team defeated visiting Nazareth College 67-49 Friday night in Empire 8 Conference action.

With the win, UC improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference, while the Golden Flyers dropped to 2-5 and 0-2 in conference play.

Sophomore forward Jessica Berry (Rome Free Academy/Rome), a transfer from Nazareth, scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. Freshman guard Devon Croll (Vernon-Verona-Sherril/Vernon) chipped in with 10 points and three steals, while senior guard Karen Crisanti (Geneva/Geneva) scored 13 points and knocked down a team-best two 3-pointers.
The Pioneers largest lead of the night came with just over twelve minutes left in the contest when they led by 20.

Lizzie Barlow scored a team-high 20 points for Naz, while Kelly Dunne tallied 12 points on 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arc.

UC returns to the hardwood Saturday when they take on visiting RIT in conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. on campus at the Clark Athletic Center. Check out live streaming video of the contest on-line at www.empire8.tv. Live stats will also be available at www.ucpioneers.com.
