UC Tennis Falls to Russell Sage and Elmira

UTICA, NY – The Utica College women’s tennis team went 0-2 this weekend falling to Russell Sage 3-6 on Saturday and losing again 1-8 to Elmira in Empire 8 Conference action.

Singles leaders for UC in the Russell Sage match were junior Laura Prestia (Norte Dame/Utica) winning 6-4, and 6-0, sophomore Diana Pieklelniak (T.R. Proctor/Utica) winning two of three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, and Freshman Jessica Hunt (Lewiston/Lewiston, HE) who went 6-4 and 6-1.

Freshman Nicole Rodriquez (Jamestown/Jamestown, NY) was the lone winner for the Pioneers against Elmira College; Rodriguez went 6-2 in both sets.

The UC woman’s tennis team visits Oswego State on Wednesday September 13th at 4 PM.
