UC Volleyball Gets First Win Against Cazenovia

UTICA, NY – The Utica College volleyball team defeated host Cazenovia College in three games on Wednesday night. Utica won its first game 30-24, the second game 30-22 and then its final game 30-24.

Junior Karen Crisanti (Geneva/Geneva) had a great game while leading the Pioneers with a team-high 10 kills and two blocks. Freshmen Melissa Austin (Beaver River/Castorland) and Crisanti tallied eight digs a piece. Senior Sarah Saucier (Gouverneur/Governeur) and freshmen Brielle Swerdlin (West Morris Mendham/Chester) each led the Pioneers with three service aces each, while Christine Mylott (Catskill/Leeds) added 24 assists on the evening.

The Pioneers are now 1-4 on the season and return to action Saturday against visiting SUNY IT and Keuka College, games will be held at 12p.m., 2p.m. and 4p.m.
