KAHL SELECTED TO PLAY IN PRESTIGIOUS 'TAZON DE ESTRELLAS' GAME IN MEXICO

Senior linebacker Eric Kahl of the Utica College football team has been selected by the Stars & Stripes coaching staff to be a roster player for the Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) in Mexico on December 19th. With this honor comes the opportunity for Kahl to represent Utica College, Division III football, and his country, playing American football on an international stage.

STRONG SECOND HALF GUIDES HARTWICK PAST UTICA

The Utica College football team (3-5, 0-4 E8) led 19-7 at the half, but Hartwick (5-3, 1-3 E8) outscored the Pioneers 26-8 in the second half en route to a 33-27 Empire 8 Conference victory Saturday on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. The Pioneers totaled 311 yards of total offense, and freshman Jake Scott carried the ball 22 times for a career-high 108 yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough as the Hawks scored the game's final two touchdowns including the game-winner with 1:19 to go in regulation.

FOOTBALL PROGRAM PARTICIPATES IN 'HELMETS FOR HUNGER' CAMPAIGN

The Utica College football team will participate in its first annual “Helmets for Hunger” project this week to benefit those less fortunate in the Mohawk Valley. The Pioneers will be collecting $1 from each player, coach and football staff member on the team. The money raised will be used to buy Thanksgiving dinner for one needy family in the Mohawk Valley.
