Bergmann enters her first year as head coach of the Utica College field hockey program after spending the past two and a half years as the top assistant for the Earlham College field hockey team.  She will be responsible for all facets of the UC field hockey team.

While at Earlham College she planned and ran all aspects of the field hockey program.  In two seasons under Head Coach Jill Butcher, a three-time NCAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year recipient, Bergmann helped guide the Quakers to a 9-23 overall record, including a 6-11 mark in 2008.  Her duties entailed running practices, sideline coaching, recruiting, and ordering equipment and apparel.  She was also the strength and conditioning coach and was in charge of the defense.  In 32 total games over the course of two seasons, Bergmann’s defensive unit surrendered an average of 2.87 goals per contest.  Aside from coaching, she also wrote bi-monthly recruiting newsletters and evaluated each player through their performances at games and showcases.

Bergmann has also worked as a coach and camp counselor at numerous field hockey summer camps for the past seven years.

Bergmann graduated Summa cum Laude from Drew University in 2005 and received specialized honors in sociology.  She was a two-sport athlete (field hockey and lacrosse) at Drew University and as a member of the field hockey team she received All-Conference honors for three seasons.  As a captain in her senior campaign she scored seven goals and guided the Rangers to an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament where they eventually lost to top-seeded Salisbury College.  Drew wrapped up its 2004 season with a 14-8 overall record.

After receiving her undergraduate degree, Bergmann went on to pursue her master’s at the University of California at Berkeley Graduate School of Education. She graduated in 2006 with a concentration in Athletes and Academic Achievement. She was also a volunteer field hockey coach and head varsity lacrosse coach at Berkeley High School, guiding the Yellow Jackets to a 9-11 overall record.

She is originally from Glassboro, NJ and currently resides in Utica.
