Position:Summer Institute Resident Hall Assistant
Term:July 5th – August 8th
Pay:$1200 (total for term including training)
The Summer Institute Hall Assistants are essential to Utica College’s Summer Institute Program. They provide incoming pre-freshman students with the resources that will enhance their opportunities for academic success and facilitate their transition into Utica College. Summer Institute Resident Hall Assistants are expected to foster a sense of community among students in the residence halls, and work cooperatively with other staff members to provide social, recreational, and educational activities in the evening. Resident Hall Assistant will be required to work evenings and some weekends.
Resident Hall Assistants will be assigned a caseload of Summer Institute pre-freshman, students with whom they are expected to meet once a week. Resident Hall Assistants will be required to reside in the Residence Halls to help enforce all Utica College’s residence hall rules and campus regulations.
All Resident Hall Assistants must meet the following credentials:
- Maintain a 2.5 overall GPA or better.
- Provide three faculty/staff recommendations (one of which must be submitted by a faculty member to verify student’s academic skills).
- Complete an interview and resident hall training session with the Opportunity Programs staff.
