Teaching Candidate Resources

If pursuing a teaching position in New York State, it is important to know that many districts post their opportunities to online databases.  Please note that students are required to register for an account to the online database to apply to posted positions.  Registration is free of charge.


Online Application System for Educators (OLAS)

• Serves over 200 school districts/BOCES in 9 regions across New York State.
• Serves 24 districts/BOCES local to the Mohawk Valley Region, including: Utica, Rome City, Whitesboro, New Hartford, Holland Patent, and Sauquoit. 

Online Web Recruitment (OWR)

• Serves 20 school districts/BOCES in the extended Rochester area, including: Pittsford, Canadaigua City, Victor, Greece, and Gates-Chili.

Western New York School Application System

• Serves 23 school districts/BOCES in Western New York, including: Tonowanda City, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Frontier, and Orchard Park.

TeachNYC - New York City Department of Education

• The largest urban district in the country, serving over 1,400 schools ranging in size from 200 to 4,000 students.
