Everyone has a different passion…..
For some, it might be sports or music. Me? It’s all about animals! I have been surrounded by animals right from childhood, & I honestly could not imagine it any other way. One of the things that I truly love to do in my spare time is volunteer at the local animal shelters here in the area, especially Spring Farm CARES.
Spring Farm CARES is a non-kill, non-profit animal sanctuary in Clinton, NY. Not only do they hold adoptions (mainly for kittens and rabbits), but they also love and take care of the “special needs“ animals that may be permanent residents, and people have the opportunity to sponsor. My parents and I sponsored this beautiful girl, Moxie! (see picture below)

I’m sure you’re wondering, “What’s the point of the post?” No worries – I got this. I’m getting there.
On May 3, 2014, Spring Farm CARES is holding their 2nd Annual Run/Walk for the animals on the Village Green in Clinton. Participants have the option to either walk 1 mile, or run the 5k. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m., and the run begins at 8:00 a.m. Now I know the Heart Run & Walk just ended, but this walk is a bit different….

Registration opened on March 1st, & if participants register during that time until April 1st, the cost is $20. If registered after April 1st, the cost is $22. These registration fees all go as donations for the animals at Spring Farm CARES. People may also send in separate donations as well. For more information on the costs, check out the website at http://www.runwalkfortheanimals.com/#!register/cihc
Please consider doing this fun and great event! If you don’t want to walk, there are TONS of volunteer opportunities! There will be music, food, and other refreshment booths waiting for the walkers/runners at the end of the trail that could use a little help! 🙂
Come on now….who could say no to walking, volunteering or donating to help these precious faces???
*This is Charlie Brown. He is the miracle Cocker Spaniel at the Farm who took his first steps in September 2013, after being told by vets that he would never be able to walk again. Thanks to the love and dedication of the staff at Spring Farm, as well as donations, they were able to afford intense Aqua Therapy and Acupuncture for this boy to get him to walk again. Amazing.

Hope to see a lot of you there!
