This is just a follow-up post from my 2nd blog – which can be found right here (give it a click, if you haven’t already :))
If you are looking for an amazing community service opportunity, or if you just simply want to participate in an outstanding event then please consider doing the Spring Farm CARES Run/Walk for the Animals on Saturday, May 3rd!
For those that are not familiar with this place, Spring Farm CARES is a non-profit, non kill, local animal shelter up in Clinton, NY. Spring Farm CARES houses several dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and even goats! Some of these precious creatures are up for adoption, while others have permanent residency at the farm due to their special needs.
For more information on who Spring Farm CARES is and what they do, please check out their website here: http://www.springfarmcares.org/
As for this event, it is a 5K run beginning at 8:00 AM and a 1 mile walk around the village of Clinton beginning at 8:30 AM. At the finish line, there will be TONS of refreshments and entertainment available (and if you don’t want to run/walk, they could use some volunteers to work the entertainment booths too! :))
Since my last post about this, just one thing has changed. The registration fee. Registration has been open since March 1st, and the fee is now at $22 until the day of the race. IF you wait until race day to register, the fee will be $25. Of course, children 12 and under are allowed to walk for free 🙂
You can find out more information on how to register right here!
Also, do you want to help, but can’t make it to the event? Not a problem. Spring Farm CARES accepts any and all donations. All proceeds go to benefit the care of the animals – especially the permanent residents who have a lot of medical expenses! If you’re interested in sending a donation, you can either do it online here or mail it directly to Spring Farm CARES – the address can be found on their official website above.
Please consider participating OR donating to such a wonderful place. As I’ve said many times, I have volunteered there frequently and have seen firsthand just how loved and cared for these animals are. Plus, my parents and I sponsored a sweet, little cat last Christmas and it was one of the BEST things we have ever done. Seriously, how could you look at these faces and NOT want to help them out??
*Thanks to Spring Farm CARES for some of these pictures.
I hope to see a spectacular turnout this year! 🙂 If you have any questions, feel free to comment or catch me on twitter!
