Torrey Describes the Role of a Health Care Professional

UC Welcomes National Patient Advocate Trisha Torrey
Utica, NY (04/09/2014)- On Thursday, April 10, the Health Studies Student Society welcomes patient advocate Trisha Torrey.
In 2009, Torrey founded AdvoConnection.com, a directory that helps patients and caregivers find private health advocates help in times of need. Along with the website, Torrey wrote three books for patients, caregivers and advocates.
Torrey has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, CNN, NPR, USA Today, Money Magazine, Fox News, MSNBC, O Magazine, US News and the World Report, along with other media.
Her topic on Thursday will address "The Role of the Health Care Professional in Patient Advocacy."
The event will take place in Macfarlane Auditorium, DePerno Hall, at 6:30 p.m. It is free and open to the college community.
