- Alumni, students, parents and other members of the Utica College community will participate in more than 35 events, ceremonies and performances during Utica College’s 2013 Alumni and Family Weekend, Friday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20.

The weekend begins on Friday with one of UC’s largest and longest-running homecoming traditions, the 2013 Men’s Lacrosse Awards Ceremony and Alumni Reception in the Library Concourse. The ceremony and reception will follow the men’s lacrosse alumni game, starting at 7 p.m. in the Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. There will also be a casino night in the Ralph F. Strebel Student Center at 7 p.m., as well as a sneak preview of Saturday’s carnival under the stars on the lawn behind Strebel Student Center at 8 p.m.

More than 25 reunions, ceremonies, athletic competitions and other events will take place on Saturday, the largest of which is UC’s homecoming football game against Ithaca College at 1 p.m. Pre-game tailgate parties will begin at 11 a.m. A carnival, featuring games, rides and food will be held at 4 p.m. behind Strebel Student Center.

Leon Etienne ’06, an illusionist who made the semifinals in this season’s NBC’s America’s Got Talent, will perform at 7 p.m. in the Ralph F. Strebel Student Center Auditorium. Saturday’s events will conclude with fireworks on the athletic grounds, a Mardi Gras-style pub night in the Pioneer Pub and a dance party in the Library Concourse.

On Sunday, homecoming weekend wraps up with an Alumni Awards Breakfast at 9:30 a.m., where 13 members of the UC community will be honored with awards. There will also be  a junior varsity football game at 1 p.m. where the UC Pioneers will compete with Ithaca College once again.

Members of the UC community may register for the homecoming events by calling (800) 456-8278 or visiting www.utica.edu/homecoming.
