Getting Started in Graduate Studies

Welcome to Utica College!  As a new graduate student who has accepted admission to Utica College (UC), here is a list of first steps you should take in order to be prepared for the first day of classes and ensure that you are fully enrolled.

Step One - Pay Deposit
Step Two - Activate UC Account
Step Three - Set Up Student Financial Services Account
Step Four - Register for Courses
Step Five - Check UC E-mail
Step Six - Get Textbooks
Additional Tips for Getting Started

Step One

Pay Deposit - If you have not already done so, please pay your deposit online.  This will guarantee you a spot in the academic program to which you've been accepted. Until your deposit has been received (or waived in certain circumstances) by the Graduate Admissions, you will not be able proceed with next step and may miss important information.

Step Two

Activate UC Account - You may activate your UC student account (or reset a forgotten password) at any time by going to password.utica.edu. This creates the login you will need throughout your student career at Utica College.

Step Three

Set Up Student Financial Services Account - Setting up a Student Financial Services account at utica.edu/consent allows you to view your account balance and make secure payments online.

Step Four

Register for Courses - Register for your courses at bannerweb.utica.edu.  Log in and click the tab marked "Student Services and Financial Aid." A Help Sheet is available for online registration.  A video tutorial about registration for online graduate students may also be helpful and can be found at utica.edu/oes under Online Registration.

Step Five

Check UC E-mail - Use the username and password created in Step Two and log in.  Students who were accepted after November 12, 2012, should log in at utica.edu/google while students accepted before November 12, 2012, should log in at mail.utica.edu (these students will be migrated to Google Apps for email and calendar sometime before April 2013).  NOTE: All official correspondence will be sent to your UC e-mail account, and it should be checked regularly.

Step Six

Get Textbooks - You can buy your textbooks at the UC Bookstore or online at utica.edu/bookstore.
