On Saturday, Dec. 10, Utica College’s Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program (YSLPP) will host its annual book fair to benefit students from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble on Commercial Drive in New Hartford.
The event, open to all families in the Utica area, will feature book readings, raffle drawings, great prizes, arts and crafts, face painting, music and holiday caroling.
In order for any Barnes & Noble purchase during the event to benefit Young Scholars, attendees must present a YSLPP voucher or code, which can be found at https://www.utica.edu/academic/yslpp/upcomingevents.cfm. YSLPP supporters who cannot attend the fair can still use the code online and a percentage of their purchase will be donated.
“We are so excited to host another book fair,” said Pamela Matt, executive director of YSLPP. “Proceeds from the event go directly to our students as we strive to provide them with enriching academic, social and cultural experiences.”
Young Scholars LPP is a multi-year collaborative project, established in 1993 with Utica College (UC) and the Utica City School District (UCSD). This program is designed by education professionals to motivate diverse and talented students to stay in school, earn a New York State Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, and pursue post-secondary education.
