#18 STEVENS DEFEATS UTICA IN OVERTIME AS PIONEERS CLOSE OUT 2009 CAMPAIGN
The Utica College men's soccer team lost to nationally-ranked No. 18 Stevens Institute of Technology 1-0 in overtime Saturday night on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. The contest marked the final game of the year for the Pioneers, who dropped seven one goal contests over the course of the season.

- UTICA, NY (10/31/09) - The Utica College men's soccer team lost to nationally-ranked No. 18 Stevens Institute of Technology 1-0 in overtime Saturday night on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.After 90 minutes of scoreless play the contest was sent to overtime and Stevens' leading scorer Nolan Sandberg netted a rebound goal from the left side into the upper right corner in the 95th minute to give the Ducks a 1-0 victory.
The Pioneers closed out their 2009 campaign with a 3-11-1 overall record after playing one of the toughest schedules in the region. Their schedule including four team that were ranked in the top 25 nationally and they also had to face the rigors of the Empire 8 Conference.
Kevin Murphy played stellar in net for the Pioneers all night, stopping 12 shots in the loss, while his counterpart, Zach Carr made two stops for Stevens.
Stevens will make an appearance in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament and currently boasts a 13-3-1 overall record.
