Utica Camera Club Annual Exhibit

Artist Reception: Monday, November 4, 2013, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Utica Camera Club Annual members Exhibit presents the professional, avocation and hobby interests of its members and selections from the past year’s monthly challenges and competitions. Photographic works by the members appear in exhibits and competitions from the local and regional to the international level. Whether the photographer works with film or digital, the final works are composed by the art of the individual. The club was formed in 1923, serves photographers of Central New York and is a member of the Photographic Society of America. Membership is open to the general public with monthly meetings, challenges, competitions, regional outings and workshops to learn more about the tools and image composition. Regulation of intracellular Ca2+ release channels in physiology and disease

A regulated rise in intracellular Ca2+ represents a ubiquitous signaling paradigm utilized by cells to control a wide range of physiological processes. The goal of Betzenhauser’s research is to understand the molecular bases and physiological consequences of IP3R and RyR regulation and to probe how these channels are disrupted in cardiovascular diseases and aging. The Asa Gray Seminar Series is sponsored by the Asa Gray Biological Society, and is the longest running seminar series at Utica College. Scientists are invited from throughout the region to present seminars on their ongoing research. All lectures are held in Donahue Auditorium, Gordon Science Center, at 4:00 p.m. An informal reception immediately follows. Call (315) 792-3028 for more information.
