Whatever Happened to Your New Year Resolutions?

2-part series Thursday AND Friday...It has been estimated that self-control failures account for up to 40% of deaths in the United States each year (e.g., Schroeder, 2007). Fortunately, recent findings from cognitive neuroscience and psychology suggest several evidence-based and practical steps that you can take in order to: (1) increase motivation, (2) translate good intentions into actions, (3) break old habits, and (4) establish new healthy habits. The goals of this talk will be to discuss these findings and how you might use these findings to establish and maintain healthier habits for your own benefit and for the benefit of your family and friends.
