RESEARCH INTERESTS:



Application of sedimentological and paleontological proxies to a broad spectrum of geologic problems; including paleoclimatology, paleoceanography and paleolimnology. Assessment of environmental change, both natural and human-induced from a local to a global scale. Geomorphology and surficial processes, particularly of coastal and glacial environments. Geoscience education for science majors & non-majors, public outreach, and curriculum development.

2004 National Science Foundation; OCE Marine Geology & Geophysics ($43,787)
Part of a multi-institutional collaboration (> $690,000 total) to assess the mechanisms, source areas and implications of millennial ice-rafting events in the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans. My role in the study will consist predominantly of stereoscopic examination and quantification of coarse lithics; other researchers will focus on oxygen isotopic and other geochemical analyses.
