Advice to Students
As cliché as it may sound, be true to yourself! The college selection process can be overwhelming, and you will have a lot of options thrown at you. It is important to listen to your own instincts when it comes to making your decision. Visiting colleges and speaking with Admissions Counselors is a very important part of this process. Every campus has a different feel, and when you visit the different campuses, you know which one has the right feel for you. College visits are also a great opportunity to meet faculty, staff and most importantly, current students! This is a great way to get a sense of which campus environment is most conducive to your own success and growth. Ultimately, this is your decision, don’t let anyone sway you. Trust yourself, you know yourself the best!

Advice to Parents
Be there for your child! This time can be stressful and overwhelming for everyone involved, but especially for the students. Ask the important questions, and encourage them to visit schools and ask questions. College visits are a great way to get a feel of a campus, and these visits can be extremely helpful and informative. It is your job to show them what opportunities/options are available. Listen to your child, understand what they are looking for and ultimately be supportive when they do decide where they want to attend.

What's the Best Thing About UC?
My favorite thing about UC is how student-centered we are. From the faculty to the staff, everyone is here to help you succeed, not only in academic matters but also professionally, and personally. The faculty pride themselves on knowing their students by name and go above and beyond to ensure every student has an individualized experience. Additionally, I love the relationship between the College and community. The community involvement is such a unique aspect about UC, and it really cannot be replicated or beat!
