Utica, NY (02/20/2006) - A team of four Utica College Students are generating publicity to assist Oneida County Habitat for Humanity in raising awareness on their college campus and throughout the city of Utica as part of a national competition.
Team UC is generating awareness of the non-profit organization as part of the Public Relations Student Society of America’s Bateman Case Study Competition. The competition requires that students use the four components of a public relations campaign; research, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The team is comprised of Mary Davidson, Beth Connell, Maria Fruci and Jason Williams of the UC chapter of the PRSSA. They have completed the first two stages of the campaign and are now beginning an extensive publicity campaign.
“Oneida County Habitat for Humanity is excited to partner with Team UC as part of this public relations competition,” said Kurt Ellis, president of Oneida County Habitat for Humanity. “Increasing the visibility of our organization will help us create more partnerships throughout our community, especially with young people, who are the future leaders and volunteers.”
On Thursday, Feb. 23, Team UC will host an interactive, motivational presentation in Willard Conference Center at Utica College. The presentation will explain Oneida County Habitat for Humanity through games, testimonials, and multi-media. Beginning at 5 p.m., the presentation is free and open to the public.
