Utica, NY (08/25/2005) - The 2005 Annual Members Juried Exhibition of the Central New York Watercolor Society will be displayed in the Edith Barrett Fine Art Gallery at Utica College August 29 through October 1.

The public is invited to the opening reception of the exhibition Sunday (August 28) from 3 to 5 p.m. Fifty-one watercolor paintings make up the exhibition.

Carolynne Whitefeather, assistant professor of fine arts and director of the Edith Barrett Art Gallery, served as juror for the exhibition. Entry categories include portrait, atmosphere landscape, architectural landscape, still life, abstract, floral, and animal.

Some members of the Central New York Watercolor Society are members of the New York State and American societies, as well, Whitefeather said, with medals on the international level. A few are returning to UC, after having been in exhibits at the college years ago.

The Edith Barrett Art Gallery at Utica College is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. It is located adjacent to the Library Concourse, lower level, between the Frank E. Gannett Library and DePerno Hall at Utica College.
