Foothills Weavers, Fiber Arts Come to UC Gallery
Local Group Features Wide Variety of Fiber Art

Utica, NY (03/19/2015) - Utica College’s Edith Langley Barrett Fine Art Gallery will showcase the work of the Foothills Weavers and Fiber Arts Guild from Saturday, March 28, to Saturday, May 2.The exhibit will feature a wide variety of fiber art including works of spun fibers, woven yardage and constructed garments, panels and quilts, and works in traditional and non-traditional materials.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Library Concourse. Members of the guild will be on hand to discuss their work and share knowledge about the craft of fiber art. The reception is free and open to the public.
The Edith Langley Barrett Fine Art Gallery, located on the lower level of the Frank E. Gannett Memorial Library, is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Founded in 1984, the Foothills Weavers and Fiber Arts Guild was created with the intention of exchanging techniques and sharing the craft of fiber arts with others. Members reside and work in studios all across Central New York and meet monthly in Clinton.
