Martin Dietrich to Speak Nov. 19

Students, public get an inside look at the business of banking

Utica, NY (11/18/2014) - As a part of Utica College’s Executive Lecture Series, Martin Dietrich, president and chief executive officer of NBT Bancorp Inc., will give a talk on “Managing Growth and Acquisition Strategies in a Publicly-Traded Financial Institution.”

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in Carbone Family Auditorium in the college’s Economic Crime, Justice Studies and Cybersecurity Building, and is free and open to everyone.

Dietrich has served as president of NBT Bank since 2000 and as president and chief executive officer of NBT Bancorp Inc. since 2006. With NBT’s executive management team, Dietrich has led the bank and its employees through a period of significant expansion, including both organic growth and growth through acquisitions. Dietrich also serves on NBT Bancorp’s Board of Directors, as well as the boards of the New York Bankers Association, Independent Bankers Association of New York State, Preferred Mutual Insurance Company and the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council.

Dietrich earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colgate University.

The Executive Lecture Series is sponsored by the Business and Economics Department of Utica College.
