Student Group to Present Gospel Youth Night

Utica, NY (11/13/2014) - The Angelic Voices of Unity Gospel Choir, a student group at Utica College, will host its first Youth Night, a Christian-based entertainment special, on Friday, Nov. 21.Youth Night will feature a variety of performances from more than 16 members of the organization, including singing, dancing, poetry and music. Morris Pearson, director of civic responsibilities and new directions and vice president of student services at Mohawk Valley Community College, will be the guest speaker.
“This is one of those events that is full of positivity and is very enjoyable, no matter what religion you affiliate with,” said Cynthia Sainvil, president of the Angelic Voices of Unity Choir.
The choir, established in 2006, is a gospel-singing group. This year, the organization incorporated a dancing group, Praise Dancers, to its performance.
The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge, Sainvil said, but donations would be appreciated. It will take place in the Strebel Auditorium on the Utica College campus from 5 to 7 p.m. Immediately following the performances, there will be a reception in The Pioneer Pub.
