UC to Host Veterans Day Tribute Concert Sunday

Utica, NY (11/04/2014) - Utica College will honor Veterans with a tribute concert on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 4:30 p.m. in UC’s Clark Athletic Center.The concert will include performances by the Utica College Concert Band and the Utica College Choir. Special guests will include all area Veterans, the UC Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program, American Legion Post No. 1376 and NJROTC cadets from Notre Dame High School and Proctor High School.
The UC Choir’s set list will include South African spiritual hymns such as "Bambelela,” which translates to "hold on" or "never give up,” and "Up Where We Belong," which was popularized in the 1982 film “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
In addition to a selection of all-time favorites, the UC Concert Band will accompany the combined choirs for two numbers to close the performance.
The concert is free and open to the public. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected and donated to the Feed Our Vets program. Monetary donations will benefit the Sitrin Military Rehabilitation Program.
