Investment Advisor to Speak at UC


Alan Leist III to Speak to Investment Club, Business, Economics Students

Utica, NY (11/03/2014) - The Utica College Department of Business and Economics and the Utica College Investment Club will host a talk by Alan Leist III, managing director of Strategic Financial Services, on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m.

Leist is a successful investment manager who spent 10 years working for various investment firms in New York City. He led the technology trading team at Merrill Lynch and later ran the trading operations at Fulcrum Global Partners before returning to Utica in 2005 to join his father at Strategic Financial Services. Today, Leist serves as the managing director and chief investment officer of Strategic Financial Services, managing over $950 million of assets.

Heavily involved in the community, Leist was a recipient of the 2009 Accent on Excellence award for his dedication to numerous causes throughout the Mohawk Valley. He is currently the board president for House of the Good Shepherd and also serves on the Mohawk Valley Edge board of directors. In addition, Leist sits on the investment committees of Pathfinder Village, a community and school for people with Down syndrome, and Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare.

Leist will speak at 4 p.m. in the First Source Federal Credit Union Trading Room in Hubbard Hall. Leist’s talk is sponsored by the Utica College Investment Club and is open to the entire UC community.
