Salsbury '79 to Give Convocation Keynote


Ceremony Marks Official Beginning of Academic Year

Utica, NY (08/21/2014) - Utica College will hold its annual Convocation Ceremony on Monday, August 25 at 11 a.m., marking the official beginning of the college’s 68th academic year. New students, along with faculty, will march from the Academic Quad Rose Garden to the Harold T. Clark Athletic Center.

Mark P. Salsbury, CEO of Human Capital Management, LLC, and author, will give the convocation address to an expected 528 freshmen and 179 transfer students.

Salsbury has more than 30 years of global business experience, including management and leadership positions in North America, Europe and Asia. In 2012, he launched Salsbury Human Capital Management, LLC, a management consulting firm that specializes in helping organizations gain a competitive advantage through maximizing their human capital potential.

Salsbury previously served as senior vice president of human capital for Dover Product Identification, vice president of human resources for Markem Corporation and worldwide HR leader for Schlumberger Limited’s high technology group of companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Utica College and a master’s degree from SUNY Albany. The author of “Human Capital Management: Leveraging Your Workforce for a Competitive Advantage,” he speaks and gives seminars around the country.
