Utica, NY (03/03/2014) - On Wednesday, March 5, Utica College’s office of career services will host its annual Career Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Library Concourse.Job and internship seekers who attend the fair will have the opportunity to connect with local employers from a wide variety of industries. Approximately 50 employers are slated to attend including Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare, AmeriCU Credit Union, U.S. Secret Service, Chobani and Fastenal.
“Today, many jobs and internships have candidates apply exclusively online,” said Halina Lotyczewski, director of career services at UC. “The Career Fair allows candidates to speak to the employers and make a positive and lasting impression - something that is difficult to accomplish online.”
Attendees should dress in business attire, bring several resumes, and brush up on their verbal and nonverbal communication skills. “Being able to introduce yourself, have a firm handshake and make good eye contact are key when presenting yourself to a possible future employer,” said Lotyczewski.
The fair is free and open to the public. For more information about the fair, or other events hosted by the office of career services, contact Lotyczewski at (315) 792-3087 or halotycz@utica.edu.
