Utica, NY (11/12/2013) - On Wednesday, Nov. 13, international students at Utica College will have the chance to share their culture with the college community, as the college celebrates International Student Day with a flag ceremony and international fair.

The event will begin with the annual flag presentation ceremony at 1 p.m., at which nine new students will present their national flags to the college. The flags represent the countries in which the students hold citizenship. They will be displayed with the existing flags in the Ralph F. Strebel Student Center in the following week. The students’ national anthems will also play during the presentation.

Following the flag ceremony, there will be an international fair where students will share their cultures with the UC community. Each student will have a table set up displaying elements of their culture, including traditional foods.

UC currently has 106 international students enrolled at the school from 27 different countries.

The event will take place in the Ellen Knower Clarke Lounge, Strebel Student Center. For more information, contact the Office of Student Activities at (315) 792-3037.
