UC Appoints Vice Presidents, Registrar

Key Positions in Enrollment Management, Registrar Filled

Utica, NY (09/19/2013) - Utica College recently filled three key administrative positions.

Jeffery Gates was appointed vice president of enrollment management. Gates holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant College, a master’s degree from Binghamton University and a Ph.D. in law and policy from Northeastern University. Gates will coordinate the college’s recruitment and retention activities and will focus on influencing enrollment, net tuition revenue and the academic profile of the student body.

Donna Shaffner was appointed assistant vice president of undergraduate admissions. Shaffner earned a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and a certificate in elementary education from Moravian College. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in executive leadership and change from Daemen College. In her new position, Shaffner coordinates the college’s undergraduate admissions and recruitment activities.

Craig Dewan was appointed registrar. Dewan earned a master’s degree from SUNYIT. In his new position he will provide oversee the registration process and registrar office at the college, as well as ensure the integrity and confidentiality of academic records across the campus.
