UC Raises Funds in Memory of Student Athlete
Proceeds to benefit American Heart Association

Team UC begins raising funds for America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk
Utica, NY (10/24/2013)- On Saturday Oct. 26, Utica College athletics and members of UC’s America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk team will conduct fundraising efforts during three athletic events at UC in memory of the late student athlete, Matt Dunn.
Dunn was a captain of the UC football team, as well as an all-conference and all-region selection in football. While at UC, Dunn worked to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, but passed away unexpectedly before he could complete his required internship.
Volunteers from the UC athletic teams and America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk will sell t-shirts, raffle tickets, memorial pinwheels and memorial ribbons during the field hockey game at 11 a.m., football game at 2 p.m. and women’s soccer game at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds will be given to the American Heart Association in Dunn’s name and will be counted toward the UC Heart Run and Walk team’s annual fundraising goal.
