UC Prof Named Honorary Chair of International Human Rights Film Festival


Orlin Heads Festival Promoting Human Rights, Dignity

UC's own Theodore Orlin honored by international human rights group in Albania

Utica, NY (09/26/2013) - Theodore Orlin, Harold T. Clark Jr. Professor Emeritus of Human Rights Scholarship and Advocacy 2005-2010 at Utica College, was named the honorary president of the 2013 International Human Rights Film Festival Albania (IHRFFA).

Orlin has been a part of the IHRFFA since it began in 2006. The festival, taking place this week, aims to celebrate and raise awareness of human rights through film. It includes both documentaries and fiction films that highlight pertinent cultural human rights issues in Albania. 

Orlin has been actively involved in Albania’s human rights community since 1992. He was also president of the International Human Rights Education Consortium and is currently professor of criminal justice government and politics at Utica College.
