“Pretty Poison” is a collection of graphic art pieces, composed of various shapes and colors to create images. Pop Art and 1960s British Mods were King’s influences while designing and creating the pieces.

There will be a meet-the-artist reception in the gallery from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday. King will also discuss his work on Wednesday as part of The Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series; this will take place at 12:30 in the Library Concourse, adjacent to the gallery.

King has also had many of his works published in newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and Women’s Wear Daily. Master Card/ Visa, US Cellular and Absolut Vodka have also used his graphics in advertisements and campaigns.

King’s other interests include music and writing. He has recorded with the band J.D. and the Coachmen, and has written two books.
