UC Presents "I am a Risk Management and Insurance Professional"
Roundtable Discussion, Networking to Help Students, Public Learn More About Profession

High school students, transfer students and public invited to learn more about RMI program, job opportunities

Utica, NY (03/08/2013) - Utica College and the UC chapter of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) will host “I am a Risk Management and Insurance Professional,” a roundtable discussion and networking event for local students looking to learn more about risk management and insurance industry.The event will feature a panel of local insurance professionals discussing their careers, how they got started and the local RMI industry. Students will also have the chance to partake in informal roundtable discussions with representatives from several local companies including Utica First, Utica National, Preferred Mutual Insurance, Brown and Brown, GKG and IIABNY.
Both local high school and college students are invited to attend this event for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to receive firsthand knowledge of the RMI industry, which is a vibrant component of the Central New York economy.
“This is an ideal opportunity for high school students, adults working in the field who would like advance their careers with a bachelor’s degree, or those looking to find stable employment in the growing fields of risk management and insurance,” said Stephanie Nesbitt, assistant professor and director of the RMI program at Utica College.
The event will take place on Wednesday, March 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Carbone Family Auditorium, located in the Economic Crime, Justice Studies and Cybersecurity building. It is free and open to the public.
