Utica, NY (06/25/2012) - Utica College will hold a transfer student orientation on Wednesday, June 27 at 10 a.m. in the Carbone Family Auditorium in the Economic Crime, Justice Studies and Cybersecurity Building. The transfer orientation is for students who are enrolling at Utica College in the fall after previously attending another college or university and have completed 19 or more college credits.
The orientation is designed to help incoming transfer students become acclimated to both the academic and recreational sides of Utica College and be well prepared for the start of the fall semester.
“We want to not only familiarize these students with the college, but also make their transition a smooth one,” said Courtney Witherspoon, coordinator of orientation. “Our hope is that transfer students leave the orientation with all of their questions answered and in the best possible position to succeed at the college.”
Students attending the orientation will have the chance to participate in a question and answer with the dean of students, meet faculty members, and learn about the Utica College community and how to make the most of their Utica College experience.
Transfer students will get the chance to meet with their advisers for any additional assistance.
For the convenience of students attending the orientation, all campus offices will be open throughout the day including student financial services, campus safety, student activities, health center, admissions, student employment and student success.
Check in begins at 9 a.m.
Transfer students can register for the orientation at www.utica.edu/orientation.
