Utica, NY (03/20/2012) - Last October, former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain accused Planned Parenthood of “putting all these centers into the black communities because they wanted to kill black babies” in an interview with Bob Schieffer on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”This past February, Planned Parenthood made a documentary called "A Vital Service: African-American Stories of Reproductive Health Care," featuring the stories of women and families who have benefited from having access to the health services offered by the organization.
The K. Della Ferguson Womyn’s Resource Center (WRC), Women in a New Direction, and the Black Student Union at Utica College will show the documentary on Wednesday, March 21, at 6 p.m. in the Bell Hall Conference Center.
This event is free and open to the public.
A speaker from the local Planned Parenthood will give a presentation on its services and answer questions.
This event is held in conjunction with the WRC’s Herstory Month.
