Sar-Shalom Strong to Give Lunch Hour Performance Sept. 28


Pianist a Favorite in UC Series

Utica, NY (09/15/2011) - The Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series regular Sar-Shalom Strong will perform on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Concourse at Utica College.
 
A favorite of the series, Strong has also performed with the Society for New Music, Civic Morning Musicals and in collaboration with area and visiting musicians.

He has appeared as a soloist in concerti with the Utica Symphony Orchestra and the Hamilton College Orchestra. He has performed frequently with the Skaneateles Festival. From 1998 to 2007, he was the keyboardist for the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra.

Earning degrees from Knox College and Syracuse University, Strong is a lecturer in piano and coordinator of staff pianists for Hamilton College.

The Jackson Lunch Hour Series presents a series of musical and literary programs each semester. All programs are free of charge and are open to the public. Sponsored by the college’s Social Cultural Committee, all programs begin at 12:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Musical performances are held in the Library Concourse. Literary readings are held in Macfarlane Auditorium unless otherwise noted.
