Utica, NY (11/09/2010) - Jiajia He, associate professor of English at Utica College, will present the final Nexus seminar of the semester on Friday, Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in Willard Conference Room, DePerno Hall.The “Cultural Influences in Second Language Writing in English” lecture will explain how intellectual upbringing affects individuals who learn English as a second language (ESL) and will provide strategies to aid students’ self expression. The talk also includes proposals assessing ESL students’ writing.
The lecture is part of the Nexus faculty seminar series at Utica College. It is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served at 2:15 p.m. with the lecture to follow at 2:30 p.m.
