UC Students Present Research
Oral, Poster Presentations on Science, Humanities

Public invited to learn about research work of UC students

Utica, NY (04/13/2010) - On Wednesday (April 14), Utica College students will present their research topics in the fields of science and the humanities at the annual UC Student Research Conference.Judith Kirkpatrick, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Utica College, will deliver welcoming remarks. She will be followed by Terri Provost, associate professor of biology, who will be the opening speaker. Oral and poster presentations by more than 20 students will take place in the Economic Crime and Justice Studies Building from 2 to 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Student research projects are an important part of the learning experience at Utica College. This year’s topics include “Mouse Research Gone Wrong” by Megan Peppenelli and Jeffrey Tefft, “Screening DNA for Mutation and Brugada Syndrome” by Ahmeda Hrustanovic, “Slings and Arrows: Shakespeare’s Personality and Semi-Historical Shakespearean Fiction” by Kateri Woody, “U.S. Relations with Russia” by Kristine Kelly and many more. Many students were guided in their research efforts by faculty advisors who will be present at the presentations.
