Mohawk Valley Refugees visit campus to learn about health topics, services

Utica, NY (04/14/2010) - The Utica College Student Gerontology Society and Students Helping in the Naturalization of Elders (SHINE) will host a Health Fair today (April 14) for nearly 200 refugees from the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees. The group will come to campus to listen to presentations by UC students on a variety of health care topics. These topics will range from the importance of immunizations to staying more active; information on how to access services will also be available.The event will take place on the first floor of Hubbard Hall and the Faculty Center from 12:30 to 2:10 p.m. From 2:15 to 2:30 p.m., all participants will gather in Donahue Auditorium in Gordon Science Center for closing remarks.
