UC Department of Nursing Seeks Accreditation
College Anticipates Site Visit in Spring

Utica, NY (02/18/2010) - The department of nursing at Utica College, School of Health Professions and Education, has applied for program accreditation through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).As part of the evaluation process, the department invites program constituents to share comments with the CCNE. The comments must be in writing and must be signed to be considered. Comments may be submitted to Amanda Brownbridge, Accreditation Assistant, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036-1120. Comments will not be shared with the program during the review process.
The baccalaureate nursing program at Utica College blends the strengths of the liberal arts educational mission of the college with the professional education required for successful clinical practice. The program is approved by the New York State Education Department and has enjoyed full accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. throughout its 23-year existence and is a member of the League’s Council of Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Programs. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing (NCLEX-RN).
Utica College anticipates that CCNE will conduct a site visit April 7-9.
