"The Mellow Moose" Opens on UC Campus

New Coffeeshop serves Goodies from Local Vendors

Utica, NY (09/22/2009) - Utica College has officially opened a new coffee house: The Mellow Moose.

The Mellow Moose has fresh pastries from Holland Farms and bagels from Bagel Grove, accompanied by piping hot coffee in a relaxed environment and upbeat atmosphere.

Fran Lucia, senior secretary and events coordinator, is happy to have a coffee house back on campus. “The Mellow Moose is a nice place to gather, take a break and just relax. I think it’s great that it’s run by students and that they’re taking on the responsibility.”

While Mellow Moose is a student-run coffee shop, it is open to visitors and the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 11p.m. It is located on the ground floor of the Strebel Student Center, close to the Clark Athletic Center.
