UC in Top Tier of America's Best Colleges


U.S. News and World Report rates Utica College No. 12 overall and No. 8 in Best Value among undergraduate comprehensive colleges in the North
Utica, NY (08/23/2004) - In its annual guide of America’s Best Colleges, which hit newsstands today, U.S. News and World Report placed Utica College in the top tier of undergraduate comprehensive colleges in the North. The national magazine rated Utica College No. 12 overall in its Top Schools category and No. 8 in its Best Value index among higher education institutions in the same classification.

Utica College improved its position in both categories from last year’s guide, which placed Utica No. 15 in Top Schools and No. 9 in Best Value. This news comes as Utica College prepares to welcome the largest freshman and incoming classes in its 58-year history. A total of 500 freshmen and 250 transfer students will arrive on campus Sunday, Aug. 29 in preparation for Convocation on Monday, Aug. 30. Classes will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
