Utica, NY (04/08/2009) - The Internet is a treasure trove of information. But often Web surfers point and click down blind alleys and land on unrelated or tangentially related sites in their quest to find just the right information.Utica College Distance Learning Librarian and Coordinator of Instruction Lisa Rogers is an expert on research methods and an authority on streamlining the process of gathering information from cyberspace. She will present her talk Around the World in 60 Minutes: Cultural Excursions Via the Internet on Friday, April 10 in the Willard Conference Room, DePerno Hall at 2:30 p.m.
Rogers will demonstrate tried and true methods as she navigates through the voluminous information about cultural sites around the world. Her presentation will reveal a variety of Web sites, tools and strategies for finding cultural information, leading her audience on a whirlwind tour of countries and cultures by way of the World Wide Web.
