Utica, NY (03/09/2009) - It wasn’t the most direct route they could take. They chose to follow the path laid out in honor of America’s 1976 bicentennial. The summer 2008 odyssey took the couple and the tandem bicycle they pedaled across the great expanses of the country. Along the way they found America to be very big, very human and endlessly fascinating.Carol Mackintosh, UC’s vice president for planning and analysis, and husband Steve fulfilled their long-held desire to ride across America and now the story of their journey is the subject of a Geotalk lecture. The talk will be on Friday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Willard Conference Room, DePerno Hall. The event is free and open to the public. The presenters welcome all to share the planning, the pleasures, the panoramas, and the pain of their fantastic journey. For more information about Geotalk call (315) 792- 3059 or visit www.utica.edu.
