Lunch Hour Series to Feature Toglia, Evans
Award-Winning Pianist, Flutist to Perform

Utica, NY (09/15/2008) - The Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series will host a performance by pianist Tina Toglia and flutist Elizabeth Carville Evans on Wednesday, Sept.17 at 12:30 p.m. The concert, free and open to the public, will be held in the Library Concourse.Toglia is an active solo performer, collaborative pianist and teacher in Central New York. She holds a doctorate from Stony Brook University and has been a fellow at the Yale Summer School of Music and Art, the Bach Aria Festival, and the Tanglewood Music Festival. She was a finalist in the J.S. Bach International Piano Competition. In January 2002, Toglia and soprano Lauralyn Kolb released their album Just-Spring: Art Songs of John Duke as part of New World Records’ Recorded Anthology of American Music.
Evans, a New Hartford native, holds bachelor and master’s degrees in flute performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. She won the 1985 James Pappoutsakis Memorial Flute Competition. She performs with the Utica Symphony Orchestra and the Catskill Symphony flute section.
