Utica, NY (09/12/2008) - Music and Memories is the theme of this year’s homecoming celebration at Utica College; the sounds of each generation will be featured throughout the weekend and hope to amplify the fun while catching up on old times with family and friends.Utica College invites students, families, faculty, staff and the entire community to join the festivities Sept. 19 - 21 on campus and at various venues throughout the city. Some of the highlights of homecoming weekend include a casino night, carnival under the stars, music at Mojo’z, fireworks, a pub night featuring decades of hits by entertaining DJs, and of course, a number of sporting events.
Two popular music acts will also be featured during Homecoming 2008. Grammy award winning hip-hop star Lupe Fiasco will light up the stage on Friday evening at 8 and American modern pop/rock band Lifehouse will follow on Saturday at 7 p.m. Both performances will take place at the Stanley Center for the Arts.
UC will host the men’s lacrosse alumni game and reception at 7 p.m. on Friday evening and on Saturday UC football will take on the RPI Red Hawks at 1:30 p.m. Both games will take place at the Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
“There’s something for everyone at this year’s homecoming,” says Mark Kovacs, director of alumni and parent relations. “We managed to bring in some really talented musical artists and there are so many other enjoyable events. The entire weekend is going to be a lot of fun.”
