UC Welcomes International Students for Summer
Vietnamese Improve English, Learn American Culture

Vietnamese high school students learn finer points of baseball, explore American culture

Utica, NY (07/18/2008) - Utica College is offering a fun educational experience to 25 students from the International School of Ho Chi Minh City through the International ESL Summer Vacation Program.The purpose of the program is to help Vietnamese students improve their English-speaking skills and learn about American culture, while having fun in the process. Students attend class each morning and the afternoon is dedicated to various activities; field trips include Niagara Falls, Darien Lake, Water Safari Amusement Park, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
“This is a very rewarding program for the students,” said Joni Pulliam, executive director of corporate and professional programs. “They are an absolute delight to have on campus and also very hard-working. We really enjoy having them here.”
